Our History

Talking about Bécquer Hotel is talking about historical wealth and tradition…but it is also making reference to modernity, comfort. A Hotel with numerous future projects. Bécquer Hotel keeps the tradition of other Hotels with origins in the 19th century. Among them, we find Cecil Oriente Hotel, located in Plaza Nueva. This one kept itself functioning until 1970 when the owner family sold it only to build, one year later, Bécquer Hotel in Reyes Católicos Street. This one was executed in the place where the palace-house of Torres de la Pressa Marquesses, Excma Sra. Da Elvira Marañón y Jiménez and Excmo. Sr. D. Andrés Lasso de la Vega y Quintanilla.
In this building, several elements from the palace-house, as Renaissance grilles at the reception counter and the ones forming the gate of the interior Bar, the coffering of the Romantic Hall with its chimney, the glazed leaden windows and leaden doors at the Main Hall.
With these incorporations, the aim was to include original artistic elements in the hotel decoration which can differentiate this hotel from the average hotel types.
